We at Berala Jack & Jill Preschool believe that the early years of childhood are crucial in a child’s development.

Preschool plays an important role, not only for a successful transition to formal education at school, but research shows it influences the children’s confidence and choices well into the future.

Our Staff see it as more than a job but a privilege to work with our children and families.

Statement of Commitment to Child Safety

Our service is committed to the safety, wellbeing, and rights of all young children. We acknowledge the key role we play in upholding the children’s right to safety. We endeavour to do this by providing a child-safe and child-friendly environment, where children are safe and feel safe from harm and abuse, and who are able to actively participate in decisions that affect their lives.

Our History:

Berala Jack & Jill Preschool Kindergarten Inc. is a not-for-profit community preschool established in the early 1950’s by Anne Byrnes, Keith Anderson and Lorraine Anderson, residents of the Berala Community.

Driving the preschool to ensure the delivery of quality education was upheld by Lorraine Anderson, principle at the time. Thanks to their hard work and dedication, we continue to stand here today, continuing to make a difference in the lives of children and families within the local community.

Thank you to Ray and Ken, the children of Anne, Lorraine and Keith for visiting in 2023 to share about the history of our preschool (Photo bottom right).
